LONDON, U.K. – (17 January, 2025) – Northern Ireland’s Gareth has today released his original song ‘Last Thing I Do’, which received its first radio play on BBC Radio 1 this week, with Future Pop presenter Jodie Bryant saying of the track, “it’s fun, it’s country, it’s pop to the max.”
The 24-year old, who Bob Harris said “is going to be a big star” on his show BBC Radio 2 show last night, is gaining immense traction for blending his Irish roots with his love of country music and storytelling and was named one of Absolute Radio Country’s ‘Class of 2025’ artists-to-watch earlier this week.
Gareth said of the release, “I wrote this song as it relates to my recent move from Northern Ireland to Nashville. The song mentions that no matter where you travel or what dreams you chase, you will never forget those that are closest to you. Somehow you will always find your way back to the ones you love. I am excited to kick off this new chapter of music with this song.”
‘Last Thing I Do’ was written by Gareth alongside Zach Crowell, who is a three-time GRAMMY Award nominee and has written/produced over 30 #1 songs, and Ilsey Juber, whose credits include: Beyoncé’s ‘All Night’, Miley Cyrus’ ‘Midnight Sky’, Mark Ronson’s ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ and Jelly Roll’s ‘When The Drugs Don’t Work’.
Gareth’s debut EP Changing Seasons was released in October 2024, and his cover project Covers (From Across The Pond) which includes his highly acclaimed and viral cover of Noah Kahan’s ‘Stick Season’, which he credits for kickstarting his career. Gareth’s version has received over 25 million views and has been streamed over 15 million times.
