Swedish punk rock outfit Rotten Mind returns with the new single ”Pointless Love”. This single, alongside the soon to be released track ”Visitor in the Present”, was recorded at the same time as Rotten Mind‘s latest, fifth studio album ‘Unflavored’ from 2022. While revisiting the darkened and melodic, guitar driven post-punk soundscapes of “Unflavored”, ”Pointless Love” stands out from what the band has done before. Besides the new single, Rotten Mind also announce new live shows in Europe – dates below.

Pointless Love is about never growing up. Sometimes it can actually be reassuring to think about life as something pointless. Then it‘s up to you to make what you want out of it.
We wanted to try something else with this song, a different rhythm in the guitar riffs and stuff. What I like about it is that the song almost feels like the crescendo is in the verses, which is usually the other way around.
We‘re super happy to finally release these two songs. They were recorded at the same time as the ‘Unflavored’ album but we chose to do something else with them since the record felt done with the other songs. As you‘ll probably hear, they’re quite different from what we usually do.

Sweden‘s Rotten Mind combines elements of 77‘ punk, post-punk, dark wave, and garage rock into their own brand of melodic and alternative punk. Effortlessly moving between gloomy, epic, bittersweet, punchy, and energetic soundscapes, the band brings vintage-sounding punk to the modern age with a timeless attitude and palpable verve.Rotten Mind consists of Jakob Arvidsson (guitar/ vocals), Liz Panella (bass), Johan Sverredal (guitar) and Victor Nordin (drums). The band was formed in Uppsala, Sweden in 2015. As one of the four original bands affiliated with Lövely Records, Rotten Mind has released five studio albums; “I‘m Alone Even With You” (2015), “Rotten Mind” (2017), “Fading into Oblivion” (2018), and ”Rat City Dog Boy” (2020). In 2022, the band launched their latest, fifth studio full-length; “Unflavored”.
Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut, Rotten Mind has toured frequently, playing shows in Australia, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, UK, USA, Spain and the Czech Republic. The band has shared stages with Hurula, Asta Kask, and The Sounds, and has been recognized in music magazines such as NME, Vice, Vive Le Rock, and Swedish Gaffa.
Rotten Mind‘s sound exists somewhere in the dark wastelands where 80‘s UK acts like The Vibrators meets US bands such as Christian Death and T.S.O.L. Their fresh and modern contribution to the genre makes Rotten Mind comparable with contemporary acts such as Crusades, Iceage, Radioactivity, Metz and High Tension Wires.
