Irish rock duo Dea Matrona today release new single ‘Every Night I Want You’, the third offering from their highly-anticipated debut album ‘For Your Sins’, out 3rd May. Listen here / watch video here

A softer release than previous singles ‘Black Rain’ and ‘Stuck On You’, ‘Every Night I Want You’ is a glistening and insatiable pop rock track, reminiscent of prime The Cranberries and Fleetwood Mac. It is a track that further emphasises Dea Matrona’s musical diversity and the varied influences that help make up their debut album. The accompanying music video, with its grainy tones and swirling angles, carries a distinctive and feelgood 70s vibe.

Dea Matrona say about the track: “The guitar chords in ‘Every Night I Want You’ were inspired by some of the jazz standards I’d learnt as a teenager after going through a bit of a jazz phase. We both wanted to honour The Cranberries with their iconic ‘doos’ which we added into the bridge. This is probably the most pop rock song of the album. We both thought that if this was in a Fleetwood Mac album, it would be a Christine McVie song. We wanted something that was feel-good in between the darker stuff on the record”.

The band also today announce a series of exclusive in-store acoustic performances on album release week across the UK. Starting on 2nd May in HMV Belfast, they will play special sets at some iconic record stores including Jacaranda in Liverpool, Vinyl Whistle in Leeds and Banquet Records in Kingston.

Dea Matrona have always been an exciting proposition. A duo that pushes boundaries of genres in an authentic yet nostalgic way, their debut album ‘For Your Sins’ bestows a passion project like no other. An album that bridges together an intoxicating blend of indie pop and rock with superb sophistication, influences from Fleetwood Mac, HAIM, The White Stripes and Arctic Monkeys drench through. From the thumping and prowling ‘So Damn Dangerous’ to the whimsical pop wonder ‘Every Night I Want You’, the low strums of ‘Black Rain’ to the country swing of ‘Won’t Feel Like This Forever’, it delivers a slice of everything. The album is a completely self-made labour of love, with the band writing, recording and producing the album themselves.

Easily a Dea Matrona classic for long-time fans but the perfect introduction for newcomers, it is set to draw one and all into Dea Matrona’s infectious aura.

Dea Matrona comprises two school friends, Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe, who grew up busking to their favourite rock ‘n’ roll anthems on the streets of Belfast. Covering the likes of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Homeward Bound’, they have reached an online community of 500,000 followers and racked up over 8 million views on YouTube. With their hard hitting riffs and musical intensity they have established a rare, sensational sound – gritty and real but loaded with melody and style. The band have garnered some incredible support so far from the likes of The Telegraph, Kerrang!, Classic Rock, Clash, The New Cue, The Independent, MusicRadar and more.

The album will be available to buy on a variety of vinyl, CD and cassette formats. Pre-order here
