MOSKITO have today returned with their new single ‘Run It Back’, a powerful reflection on nostalgia, growing up and the rapidly changing world around us.

Produced by Owen Claxton (Bring Me The Horizon, Precious Pepala), ‘Run It Back’ captures MOSKITO’s ability to pair urgent, hard-hitting instrumentation with deeply personal storytelling. The track explores the feeling of looking back on simpler times while questioning the impact of technology, culture and the pressures of the modern world.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, guitarist Joe Desmond shares: “‘Run It Back’ was born from a lonely night spent reminiscing about simpler times and reflecting on how much our town, culture and technology have changed in such a short space of time. I remember walking through the countryside for hours, wondering what kind of world the next generation will grow up in, scribbling down snippets of childhood memories and expanding on them later until they eventually became the lyrics.

“There’s definitely an element of concern in this song. Alongside the urgency of the riffs and instrumentation, lines like ‘Save me, we’re lost in the age, this digital age. Liberate ourselves from these self-imposed chains’ capture that feeling of suffocation that can come from constantly chasing digital validation.

“Beneath all the angst, though, is a longing to be that kid again and, more importantly, for kids to simply be allowed to be kids. The snapshot of your youth stays with you forever, and I think everyone would love the chance to run it back, even if it’s just for one day.”

Hailing from the market town of Boston in Lincolnshire, East Midlands five-piece MOSKITO are built on brotherhood, unity and a shared passion for making music together. Fronted by a pair of brothers whose natural chemistry lies at the heart of the band’s identity, MOSKITO create a fever-inducing cacophony of dark melodies, towering riffs and raw emotion, balancing unrelenting intensity with moments of vulnerability both on record and on stage.
