UK Fuzz makers LongFallBoots are back with a hefty 3-track EP to make their mark once again on the UK music scene.
Formed back in 2012 by two friends who needed to get their noise out into the world, with ten releases later, including two full-length albums, LongFallBoots are once again ready to put themselves out there with their latest offering ‘World Of Thieves’ due for release on August 28th.
Their fuzz-laden sound is at home with the likes of The Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins and Glassjaw. They have a real ethereal, raw, visceral sound that just gnaws at you from start to finish. It’s a cutting sonic barrage on the senses that completely consumes you as you listen; you simply cannot ignore it. From the EP’s opening track ‘Almost Always ’, it grips you from the off and doesn’t let go. As does ‘Through The Noise’ with its addictive quality; its twists and turns keep you on your toes, building into a crescendo, dragging you along as it does. The diy quality of the vibe the band has created is something to behold. A joy to listen to in a world of overproduced, overpolished productions, the raw nature of LongFallBoots’ sound is simply glorious.
As we wrap up this EP with ‘Machina Obscura ’, you can’t help but feel like you need more. While the EP gives you a glorious taste of what the band are all about, it just whets the appetite before they yank all they are back from you. Naughty LongFallBoots. The track is an absolute beast; it rips and tears at you for the whole 8 minutes 40 seconds, it pushes and pulls you like you are a sweaty mess in a mosh pit you can’t escape. Gnarly and unforgiving, it is a statement of intent about who LongFallBoots are sonically in 2026.
A tasty EP indeed, one that exceeded my expectations; these cats have to be seen live to fully appreciate the heft they have created, so if you are local to a show, grab the opportunity and get down there. You won’t regret it.
