Manchester alternative quartet PAVÉ are entering a bold new chapter with the release of their new single, Taking Control. Raw, cathartic and unflinchingly honest, the track tackles burnout, emotional exhaustion and the challenge of finding the strength to keep moving forward when you’re running on empty.

Marking the band’s first collaboration with acclaimed producer Dan Weller (Holding Absence, Enter Shikari, Caskets), ‘Taking Control’ sees PAVÉ pushing their sound to new heights. The single arrives alongside a striking new music video directed by Callum Olney-Watson, with cinematography and editing from Liam Maxwell (South Arcade, Pixies, LEAP). In a first for the band, fans were invited to take part in the shoot, transforming the video into a celebration of the passionate community that has grown around PAVÉ.

Speaking on the new single, vocalist Alanya Jade shares “‘Taking Control’ is about knowing another mental battle is coming, but not knowing if you’ve got enough left in the tank to face it. It’s for the people who look fine on the surface while quietly falling apart underneath. At its core, it’s about burnout, feeling trapped in an environment you’re supposed to love, and realising that the people you expected support from are standing by and watching you struggle without stepping in. That feeling can leave you stuck between wanting to hold on and wanting to walk away, and over time it turns into resentment. It’s a song about reaching your limit and one we hope people use to scream their, ‘I deserved better than this.’”

Since emerging in 2019, PAVÉ have steadily built a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting new alternative acts. Their debut EP, Are We Above The Secrets We Keep (2024), marked a defining moment for the band, showcasing their ability to balance vulnerability and ambition while connecting with a rapidly growing audience.

Renowned for their energetic live performances, they have sold-out headline shows and appeared at major festivals including Isle of Wight, 2000 Trees, Truck Festival, Y Not Festival and Takedown Festival, while sharing stages with the likes of The Himalayas, The Hara, Grey Daze, TSS, ALT BLK ERA and many more.

Momentum continued to build throughout 2025 with the release of Whatever The Cost, which became the band’s biggest track to date, surpassing 200,000 streams and earning playlist support from Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & Ireland and Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Rock. The same year saw PAVÉ selected as a Factory Sounds artist through Factory International, supported by Adidas, further cementing their status as one of the North’s most promising rising names.

Consisting of vocalist Alanya Jade, guitarist Kevin Peate, bassist Meg Gale and drummer Ben Pursehouse, PAVÉ are driven by connection, authenticity and a determination to turn life’s most difficult moments into something powerful. With new music pushing their sound further than ever before, they continue to establish themselves as one of the most compelling emerging voices in British alternative music.
