“The name …with little ease speaks to the immense, intense, and long time effort for us to share our first record with the world,” says Hunter Fitch, frontperson for Saint Blonde. “We wanted the first track to mirror the emotional dive of our process, and give some insight into the visceral, intentional, energetic and identity redefining tracks to follow.” “chainwhip” is the fifth single from Saint Blonde’s debut album which finds the Denton band leaning into an explosive, guitar-driven post-punk sound that feels intentionally abrasive, emotionally raw, and resistant to algorithm-chasing perfection. The single “skewers authoritarian power and those who wield it with the precision they’re becoming known for,” says Fitch. “We used various motifs to evoke the rush of riding shotgun in a high-speed chase, and capture our live volatility, while encouraging a sea of stage divers and crowd surfers.” Produced by Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, Waterparks, All Time Low), …with little ease sees the alternative rock group confronting the realities of surviving as artists in a music landscape increasingly shaped by homogenization, delivering a debut rooted in confrontation and instinct rather than trend-conscious spectacle.
