Hailing from El Paso, TX, LESSER CARE mix post-punk, shoegaze, and alternative rock into a dreamy and powerful experience. Today, LESSER CARE announce their signing to Chicago-based label New Morality Zine joining a diverse roster that includes Prize Horse, Bleached Cross, ASkySoBlack, Chico, and more. The two team up to release the band’s 2024 album HEEL TURN on CD for the first time, and for more music in the near future.

On signing LESSER CARE, label owner Nick Acosta shares:

“Lesser Care has long run in many of the same circles as several bands on the NMZ roster, which is how I first became aware of them. I’ve been a fan of the band for years and have always admired not only their music, but also their approach to DIY touring, their strong aesthetic vision, and their commitment to community.

Dez and I stayed in touch over the years through casual conversations, and when discussions about new music began, everything naturally clicked into place. I’m incredibly excited to welcome Lesser Care to the roster. They embody the spirit of NMZ while also demonstrating how a band can evolve and expand its sound without chasing trends or feeling forced. Listening back through their catalog, you can hear the foundations of where they were headed all along, making their growth feel both organic and honest.”

Formed in 2019, LESSER CARE stemmed from the hardcore scene and began on a sonic journey to create something different. The band debuted in 2020 with their True Burden EP, followed by their 2022 debut album Underneath, Beside Me, made entirely out of prospects dealing with grief, loss, love, and the aching acceptance of it all. After a few stand alone singles, LESSER CARE unleashed HEEL TURN in March 2024, produced by Phillip Odom (Glare Militarie Gun) and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile, Nothing). The 12 tracks display an elevation of differences and new possibilities through the group’s signature gloomy sound. Since the album release, LESSER CARE has toured and shared the stage with the likes of Trauma Ray, Downward, Béton Armé, Seahaven, Glare, Blushed, Candy Apple, and more. In 2026, LESSER CARE. continue resilient and passionate as the enter their next chapter.

LESSER CARE is Andres Chavez (Dez) – Vocals, Guitar, Zane Pacillas – Drums, Percussion, Kevin Armstrong – Guitar, Tanner Maxwell – Guitar, and Alejandro Sigala (Fish) – Bass.
