SONS OF SILVER RELEASE NEW EP ORDINARY SEX APPEAL
“No frills, no gimmicks, no faddishness or following or fashion, just great songs with great grooves. It’s been a while since we had some of that come along” — The Big Takeover
Deemed by American Songwriter Magazine as a “Super Group” Los Angeles band Sons of Silver release their sophomore EP Ordinary Sex Appeal. Get it at your favorite platform here – https://SonsOfSilver.lnk.to/OrdinarySexAppeal
“having proven that they can hold their own in the realms of incendiary rock and roll, the sort of thing that The Stones would have killed for, Dog’s D’amour would have handed over the last of their drugs for and which The Wildhearts would have arm-wrestled you for, they set about spreading their wings and showing exactly how far they can push their own rock and roll boundaries” – Dancing About Architecture
Sons of Silver is Pete Argyropoulos (vocals, guitar), Brina Kabler (keys, vocals), Kevin Haaland (lead guitar), Adam Kury (bass), and Dave Krusen (Drums). “with a massive collective background in grunge and hard rock, what you see is what you get. And that wisdom from early days has well-equipped the group to excel” – American Songwriter.
The five new songs on the new EP reflect the band’s straightforward, no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll sensibilities. They start the set with the melodically precise guitar licks and propulsive gallop of “Who’s Gonna Stop Us”, followed by “ReEducation” which swaggers and grooves with solid riffs, and a hefty backbeat. “With You” is a moody and emotional ballad showing the band’s depth and sensitive side. Next are the hypnotic vibes of “Cause Of My Pain” and they round things off with the arena-ready and snarling “Hesitate”. Ordinary Sex Appeal was mixed by John Fields (Soul Asylum, Miley Cyrus, Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World).
The band’s 2020 debut release Doomsday Noises garnered three spots on the Billboard Active Rock Chart, with Ordinary Sex Appeal the band puts a fresh take on their already proven formula. “They keep the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll alive” – New Noise Magazine.
