Nik Nocturnal – known for his YouTube content (with nearly 580k subscribers), plus artist collaborations (including his recent Chelsea Grin cover with Will Ramos) – has now launched a new original music project: NIK NXK, with producer deadwait (Corpse’s producer). His first foray into Trap Metal, NIK NXK drops the single “Isolation” today, with a video that can be seen here: https://youtu.be/WWn1Qbrfpw4

NIK NXK comments: “As an instrumentalist, I got sick of waiting for vocalists to send me tracks – and, I see Trap Metal artists release songs that they recorded on a Nokia with a $20 copyright-free-trap-beat, which often surpasses metal bands’ monthly listeners. I thought, ‘Why not try this myself – but with better production’. So, I decided to be the vocalist finally – to scream over 808’s and disgustingly heavy riffs.”

Stay tuned for more from NIK NXK coming soon. In the meantime, be sure to follow Nik Nocturnal on Spotify for his latest collaborations and original music: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1Gc5ZiJhqjQQcfvMTSCa3q

About Nik Nocturnal

Since launching his YouTube channel in 2014, Nik Nocturnal has worked tirelessly on content, bringing his idiosyncratic and passionate take on metal to everything that he does, making it clear that the music matters to him – and his irreverent sense of humor does not hurt. “It started out as a means of finding ways to share my music as a solo musician that accidentally made me fall in love with content creation and building a community,” he explains. “I’m basically providing unique perspectives/takes on the metal scene and music, while actually having a proper background in this music and the industry.”

Taking four or five years to build up a substantial following on YouTube, he gained a favorable reputation amongst fans and artists alike – which led to creating a Twitch channel in 2020. This opened up a whole new avenue for interacting with the community, where Nocturnal could invite the bands that he was supporting to be involved with his content too. Amongst these, some of his personal highlights include Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine), Nick Hipa (Mire, As I Lay Dying, Wovenwar), Howard Jones & Jared Dines (Sion, Killswitch Engage, Light The Torch), Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel), Matt Heafy (Trivium, Ibaraki) and Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach). “It’s an amazing feeling to get respect from people I looked up to when I was a kid, especially because I didn’t make it here through traditional band routes.”

Nocturnal is also consistently working on collaborations with artists, including a 2000’s-Metalcore-style release with Phil Labonte (All That Remains), a Trap Metal project with producer deadwait (Corpse’s producer), and even covers of classic Deathcore songs with Will Ramos (Lorna Shore). At the same time, Nocturnal has his own band, Termina, in which he plays all the instruments and Andy Cizek (Monuments, Makari, WVNDER) provides the vocals.
