Aligning with this week’s theatrical debut of the horror thriller ‘THE RETALIATORS’ (Better Noise Films) across over 1,000 cinemas worldwide, CCMA-nominated Canadian country rocker CORY MARKS shares a rousing music video for his anthemic rock single “Burn It Up” which is featured on THE RETALIATORS ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK out today, September 16, via Better Noise Music. The video was directed by ‘THE RETALIATORS’ producer and lead actor Michael Lombardi (FX’s ‘Rescue Me,’ HBO’s ‘The Deuce’) whom MARKS appears alongside with a featured role in the film. “‘Burn It Up’ is an aggressive, energetic and positive rock anthem that is meant to push the listener to feel good,” says MARKS. “We know the past two years have been so challenging on many, so it’s meant to get us through that in a big way –there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. For me personally it’s fitting due to the fact I had so much lined up perfectly after two years, then COVID hit and kept me grounded for almost another two. Now that the world is moving again and I have new music with another huge US tour, it’s time to get out there and BURN IT UP. With its energetic aggressiveness, this song ties into the rollercoaster ride ‘The Retaliators’ movie brings you on!”
“Burn It Up” is the latest single from MARKS who recently surpassed over 100 million total streams following the release of his 2020 debut album WHO I AM via Better Noise Music. The video will join recent clips which have to date received over 25 million YouTube views combined and precedes his upcoming rock-centric EP I RISE due on November 4 via Better Noise Music. MARKS will also release a country-centric EP in 2023 and will be seen performing across the U.S. throughout November and December with fellow THE RETALIATORS soundtrack artist FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, whose members also appear in the film, and Brantley Gilbert. THE RETALIATORS ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK defines the state of hard rock in 2022 as it breaks new ground by captivating both rock and horror audiences by featuring some of the genre’s top charting acts on the soundtrack while also featuring the music throughout the film and including artists with featured on-screen roles.
