Morgan Wade // ‘The Party Is Over (recovered)’ // Album Review

9

Morgan Wade is back with her latest studio album ‘The Party Is Over (recovered)’ on August 1st 2025, courtesy of Sony Music.

Morgan is an eye-catching artist. Visually, she is one of those artists who don’t quite sonically come across the way she looks, covered in tattoos, you would think she is a hardened rocker, but she’s actually a heart-wrenching, dark Americana and Country artist that has been turning heads for quite a few years. Her 1st album ‘Puppets With My Heart’ was released way back in 2018, and since then she has been blazing a trail all her own with her unique voice and musicality that has resonated far and wide.

It’s not hard to see why Morgan has caught the imagination of so many. Once you spend a little time enveloping yourself in her music, it’s cutting, straight to the point and unapologetic. She pours out her heart into every song, testifying to her struggles with love, life, mental health and her own addictions, and she pulls you along this sonic journey so you feel every cut as the lady herself.  Every track is an emotive masterpiece; they build up a picture in your head as you weave your way through the lyrical content, wondering just what you have to go through to be able to produce such passion-filled gems.

Morgan’s voice is unique, her country twang cutting through the mix, driving home the emotion and angst of the lyrics as you pick out lines here and there that take your breath away, we all read into songs differently and interperate what we hear based on our own lives and expereinces, but regardless there will always be moments of clarity whne listening to an artist such as Morgan Wade where the penny drops and she helps bridge the gap between the thoughts in your head and the reality of the situation. ‘The Party Is Over (recovered)’ is one such album that will certainly make you think. Her songwriting flows over you effortlessly, the album is infectious and you can’t help but fall in love with it track by track, packed with gems, your favourite track will interchange like the seasons, but it certainly is one of Wade’s finest works to date.

Long may she last, and as a young woman in 2025, she looks like she will have a fantastic career ahead of her to enjoy and share with her ever-growing fan base as she does. I, for one, look forward to seeing where she will go from here.

‘The Party Is Over (recovered)’ lands this Friday, August 1st, courtesy of Sony Music.
