Brutal death murderers Kill Everything are back again to show you what Texas is all about.
Formed in 2016 & featuring some of the best musicians formerly featured in some titans of brutal death metal, Kill Everything are BDM through & through. Giving us a no-thrills, pure barbaric style of music that is often copied but rarely done so well.
Their last album, 2018’s “Scorched Earth”, was a heavy hitter, but now seven years on, the underground is craving more. Now with their latest album “Headless Cum Dumpster” (gotta love death metal album titles), the band are here once again to show you the true meaning of BDM.
Opener “Fermented Drippings” is a three-minute banger of a track that kicks things off perfectly. Using an eerie sample to begin the track before the band grabs you by the jugular & doesn’t let go. Blast Beats, low-tuned chugs & uber gutturals all make the perfect combo for a hard-hitting track. The “breakdown” section on this track is bloody great too.
The album’s title track, “Headless Cum Dumpster”, starts with this off-kilter style dissonant riff that sets it apart from other BDM. It gives you this uneasy feeling that & keeps you off balance, then slowly introduces the goliath sound the band is known for, bit by bit, before this great catchy section starts & as you chug on your air guitar the whole time. This track has a great different flavour & is worthy of the album’s title.
“No Lives Matter” is the highlight of the album for me. The track opens with this infectious riff that is soaked in effects that gives it this whirling feel before the band on dime just goes all out on the track. Its a very stripped back track. More of the caveman style but where its such a strong track with the production, its raw & gritty feel just increases its feel & allows the albums to have this ultra heavy classic feel to it.
The vocals on this track by Johnny Abila Jr is the best on the record. By using a few layering techniques it creates this wall of punishment for the listener. If you like your music brutal & old school like me this track gives Devourment & Internal Bleeding vibes.
When it comes to the true brutal death metal sound, Kill Everything is it. You just have to look at the resumes of the members to see
The calibre of music that is being written. Brett Wilson (ex-Prophecy), Shane Newbrough, Brian Wynn (ex-Devourment), Johnny Abila (Mortifying Deformity, Rotting Plague) & Mike Leach (Cesspool of Corruption & Demonseed).
Together they have created a solid slab of ultra guttural BDM. If you love bands like Disgorge, Devourment, Embalmed then this will be right up your alley. These guys are keeping the true brutality alive, lets just hope we don’t have to wait another seven years for a follow up ha!
