Dirt Flirt has unveiled another new cut from her forthcoming darkly alt-pop EP ‘scorpio fever’, which is set for release 22nd May via US indie Final Girl Records. Multi-instrumentalist Kit Eaton-Kent’s “ex-emo” tendencies are evident in the vulnerable yet impassioned, distorted yet catchy AF lyrical delivery, which eventually ramps up to a frenetic electronic energy. She says the new single, titled ‘honest,’ “invites the listener into an intimate setting where a relationship is starting to fall apart, and the obsession and idealisation has faded. It explores the vulnerability of realising your own flaws, as well as someone else’s.” Watch the music video now.
The release comes alongside the announcement of Dirt Flirt’s headlining debut at The Victoria in London on 23rd May, to celebrate the release of ‘scorpio fever’. London’s next queer alt-pop star will be joined by exciting special guests from across the scene for an unforgettable night, showcasing the newest faces of alt-pop. Do you have scorpio fever? ‘honest’ follows the release of the EP’s lead single ‘focus on u’, which delves into those feelings of infatuation that can come around falling for someone. The shimmering earworm set the tone for Kit’s ‘scorpio fever’ project by exploring “obsession and devotion, and how when you fall for someone it can feel like they’re the only other person in the world.” The 5-track collection reveals a darker side to Dirt Flirt and is a concept-driven project rooted in vulnerability and obsession. The EP explores how those emotions can shift and transform, moving from secrecy and intensity to honesty and release.
‘scorpio fever’ opens in a dark, mysterious space, where feelings are hidden behind haunting synths and pumping basslines. With each track, those layers peel back, sonically and lyrically evolving to expose what is actually underneath. The EP mirrors the stages of a relationship — from secretive beginnings and obsessive highs to the ultimate emotional fallout. The project’s strength lies in its duality: dark yet danceable, emotional yet playful.
Kit’s alt-pop sound has a uniquely vulnerable edge, often exploring queer themes through catchy hooks and introspective lyricism, drawing comparisons to artists like The Japanese House and 070 Shake. She’s been making a name for Dirt Flirt, charming audiences with her unmistakable stage presence, and growing a devoted online community of misfit pop fans.
