Brace yourself sheeple Carpenter Brut is back with another sonic beauty Leather Terror to remind us all that we are all living in a simulation and the music we think is “The Norm” is all a lie! A lie I say!

You need to hold onto something if you are going to delve into a Carpenter Brut album, be prepared for a gnarly sonic rollercoaster of dark, industrial, synth-wave majesty that will rip you from top to bottom, not one for the faint of heart. The ‘Opening Title’ is merely a teaser, luring you into a false sense of security before the savage ’Straight Outta Hell’ rips the skin off your face! Things settle a little as we get into ‘The Widow Maker’ with its vocals and easier on the ear, almost radio-friendly qualities flowing from your speakers, but don’t ever get comfortable or forget who you are listening to, Carpenter Brut takes no prisoners.

‘Imaginary Fire’ continues the theme, a fierce track that goes for the jugular embedding itself deep in your head, and regardless of the barbarous musical style pushing and pulling you through each and every track, you kinda dig it and wanna thank your master for the punishment.

What you get is a beautiful fusion of melodic and instrumental tracks to get your freak onto, the production is first-class allowing you to soak up every subtle nuance tossed at you from start to finish, the balance between the vocal tracks and instrumentals allows you to get shake that booty to your heart’s content, if you a fan of the likes of The Crystal Method and miss their chaotic madness then Carpenter Brut will be right up your street.

One final word of warning, hang on Toto, you’re not in Kansas anymore .. brace yourself for impact!
