Today, Connecticut metal band BALMORA unveil new single “MOON LIGHT HYSTERIA” – a shattering take on melodeath that leaves the listener with an uneasy feel. Harsh vocals from Paul Cole meet enigmatic riffs and two devastating breakdowns. The track is the third single off BALMORA’s debut album, THESE GRAVEN HALLS, set for release May 29th on DAZE, following “OPHELIA” and “INHERITANCE & SOLITUDE.”

Speaking on “MOON LIGHT HYSTERIA,” the band shares:

“‘Moon Light Hysteria’ is what the band refers to as the ‘title track.’ We wanted to simulate being trapped in a nightmarish cathedral or dungeon while an entity is hunting you. It also serves as a metaphor for life. We shan’t soon leave these graven halls of our lives’ suffering. The halls are you, the entity is only known to you.”

Stream “MOON LIGHT HYSTERIA” HERE and HERE, and preorder THESE GRAVEN HALLS through DAZE.

THESE GRAVEN HALLS pushes the dynamics of metal, weaving elements of metalcore and melodic black metal with a futuristic touch. The lyrics build off self-reflection, tracing through anguish, deception, and power. Influences pull from the obvious like The Black Dahlia Murder and On Broken Wings to a mix of media, classical, and modern music – Requiem For A Dream, Silent Hill, Philip Glass, Bladee. As BALMORA make significant impact in reaching their true self as a band, they bring in friends from I Promised The World, Upon Stone, Empty Shell Casing and Holder to feature on the album. THESE GRAVEN HALLS was recorded at The Source in New Haven, CT with production, engineering, and mixing by band members Chaz Torok and Jay Torblaa, and mastering by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Alongside the album release, BALMORA have a packed tour schedule ahead. In June, BALMORA will embark on part one of their US headliner with support from label mates Holder and Azshara. Then in July they’ll join the Summer Slaughter tour with Hatebreed, Devourment, Incantation, Snuffed on Sight, and Face Yourself, including appearances at Hellfest and The Rumble. On July 25th they’ll head out on their west coast US headline tour with support from Empty Shell Casing, Killing Pace, In 2 Again and The Test Dream on select dates.
