FFO: Chillin deliver slacker alt/emo with riffs on debut album High Horse out today through DAZE

Tour with Sowing in January

“You might enjoy FFO: Chillin if you enjoy A) relaxing, B) the face-melting hardcore normally associated with their label home DAZE, or C) some combination of both A and B.” – Paste Magazine

“FFO: Chillin’s grungy spin on pop-punk is in-step with the trends of the past few years, but Fresh Start’ has what so many similar tracks lack: riffs!…When matched with bombastic drums and ultra-hooky vocals that perfect the Oso Oso emo-as-power-pop vibe, it adds up to a glorious combustible nugget.” – Stereogum

“FFO: Chillin have no chill, and that’s probably what’s making the build toward the New Hampshire punk band’s debut album, High Horse, the right kind of fix you need to get you through the dopamine plummet of the dark days season.” – rcmndedlisten

It’s hard to pigeonhole New Hampshire’s FFO: Chillin into one genre, and that’s exactly why their band name is the recommendation. Today the band unleash their debut album High Horse through DAZE, fusing elements of ‘90s slacker rock, emo, punk, and even bedroom pop into a unique sound. The record drives on guitars from crunchy riffs to bouncy rhythms, and a couple of chaotic breakdowns for good measure. Zaq Hollen’s vocals are laid back on the surface, but conjure connective emotion begging to be sung along with. Lyrically, the band address deeper issues in a lighthearted way, poking fun at the absolute impending doom of the world while fighting for your place in it.

Stream High Horse HERE now. Physical copies are available through DAZE, also featuring 2025’s Infinite Grind Cheat EP and “Net Worth” single.

High Horse was self-produced and mixed by the band, with vocals recored in a kitchen. Drums were recorded at Recovery Studios in Leominster, MA with Josh Brenner, with guitars recorded by Mike Harmon in Penacook, NH who also mastered the record.

FFO: Chillin will join Sowing on tour in January 2027, spanning the southeast and Texas. Dates below.

FFO: Chillin is Zaq Hollen (Bass, Vocals), Parker Dunlap (Guitar, Vocals), Matt Wilcox (Guitar), Martin Harvey-Olson (Drums).
