It’s hard to pigeonhole New Hampshire’s FFO: Chillin into one genre, and that’s exactly why their band name is the recommendation. Today the band unleash their debut album High Horse through DAZE, fusing elements of ‘90s slacker rock, emo, punk, and even bedroom pop into a unique sound. The record drives on guitars from crunchy riffs to bouncy rhythms, and a couple of chaotic breakdowns for good measure. Zaq Hollen’s vocals are laid back on the surface, but conjure connective emotion begging to be sung along with. Lyrically, the band address deeper issues in a lighthearted way, poking fun at the absolute impending doom of the world while fighting for your place in it.
Stream High Horse HERE now. Physical copies are available through DAZE, also featuring 2025’s Infinite Grind Cheat EP and “Net Worth” single.
High Horse was self-produced and mixed by the band, with vocals recored in a kitchen. Drums were recorded at Recovery Studios in Leominster, MA with Josh Brenner, with guitars recorded by Mike Harmon in Penacook, NH who also mastered the record.
