UK metalcore heavyweights Acres have today released ‘The Host (Deluxe)’ via Solid State Records, the expanded edition of their latest album. The release is accompanied by a brand new music video for the acoustic version of ‘Staring At The Sun’, featuring un-seen footage from the bands recent UK and European headline tour.
Bringing together the full ‘The Host’ album and their ‘What It’s Like to Feel Worthless’ EP, the deluxe edition also features a collection of new and reworked material. This includes their cover of HIM’s ‘Buried Alive By Love’, a deletetheinternet re-wire of ‘Bloodlust’, acoustic versions of ‘Staring at the Sun’ and ‘Lost’, and live versions of ‘Not So Different’ and ‘Built To Bleed’ recorded in Munich.
Vocalist Ben Lumber shares: “‘The Host’ has always felt closely connected to the What It’s Like to Feel Worthless EP, so doing a deluxe version felt like the perfect way to bring those two worlds together and close out this era of the band. We loved the idea of putting everything into one record, but also giving people something new with the additional tracks and different versions of songs. We’ve always been into reworking our music whether that’s stripping a song back, a live version or letting it exist in a completely different way. As music fans ourselves, we’ve always loved when bands give you another side of a record you already know, so it felt right to do that with ‘The Host’.”
