Metal band Kingseeker returns with their new single “Fables and Fairytales”

Metal band Kingseeker returns with their new single, “Fables and Fairytales,” the second taste of the band’s upcoming EP “Parables”.

While the first single showcased a more cinematic and hopeful side of the band, “Fables and Fairytales” heads in a heavier, groove-driven direction. Built around a playful, djent-inspired riff, the track blends crushing guitars, driving rhythms, and the uncompromising intensity that has become a hallmark of Kingseeker’s sound.

The upcoming EP is heavier, more aggressive, and more modern than anything the band has released before. At the same time, Kingseeker has deliberately avoided the overly polished production style that has become increasingly common in modern metal, aiming instead for a sound that feels raw, energetic, and authentic.
Kingseeker:
“The working title for this song was actually ‘Traumabonding.’ It all started with a riff that had a different kind of groove than what we usually write, and we wanted to build a song that was just as heavy as it was catchy. We love the idea that you shouldn’t have to choose between groove and energy, when you can have both.”

Lyrically, “Fables and Fairytales” explores destructive relationships, manipulation, and the stories people tell themselves—and others—to justify painful realities or avoid confronting the truth. The title reflects the contrast between comforting illusions and the darker reality that lies beneath them.
With “Fables and Fairytales,” Kingseeker continues to push its modern metal sound forward, combining crushing riffs, memorable hooks, and relentless energy with increasingly mature songwriting.

With a unique blend of Metal, Hardcore, Progressive metal and a focus on a raw, organic sound we’ve tried to bring the same energy live and in the studio.

“This is hardcore – the kind that really gets under your skin – and with Jan Magne urging everyone to start a mosh pit, that’s exactly what happened.” -Disharmoni.no
“But Kingseeker isn’t just about brutality. What truly sets them apart is their masterful weaving of melody into the sonic tapestry.” – edgarallanpoets.com
