Released earlier this year, Ms* Gloom’s debut mixtape J Is For Joon was a boldly coloured, vivid statement of liberation from the LA based artist. Shedding preconceptions and a previous alias in the process, the artist formerly known as Joon Gloom carved out a lush, imaginative lane within the world of left-field electro-pop; one that speaks to the postmodern tastes of not only her rapidly expanding following, but her own influences. Today, Ms* Gloom announces a further expansion into her haze-filled but propulsive world, letting other diverse voices make their mark on its sonic surroundings with J Is For Joon (RMX).

Set for release on September 17th, J Is For Joon (RMX) finds a vast array of some of electronic music’s most in-demand and established names providing their own touch to the dynamic, singular soundscapes of J Is For Joon. Spanning the likes of Malibu, Lust For Youth, Quiet Light, Cult Member and more, J Is For Joon (RMX) recontextualises Ms* Gloom’s own form of sonic escapism; with each contributor taking the project’s source material and blurring its edges, pushing each track in new directions and broadening the scope of J Is For Joon’s already vast range of sounds.

Today, Ms* Gloom unveils the first taste of the project in the form of Araabmuzik’s take on ‘Joker’. The remix finds the legendary ‘MVP of the MPC’ giving a full bodied, slow crawling bounce to the track’s original euphoric dreamscape. Within the track’s new, rap-inspired format, Araabmuzik also ramps up the spaciousness as a foil to his own hard-hitting bass. Ms* Gloom returns the favour by the song’s new context and recording new vocals for the track, allowing ‘Joker’ to mutate in new, unexpected ways.

With J Is For Joon (RMX) and the release of Araabmuzik’s take on ‘Joker’, where Ms* Gloom first let listeners into her own enchanting world, she is now allowing others to contribute. Taking the threads of her own musical expression to weave brand new tapestries, the project breathes new life into a unique statement of intent from one of 2026’s most exciting, assured new names.
