“Touching on the brutal edges of their sound, both ‘Removing The Arrows’ and ‘A Weapon In God’s Country’ point a fierce finger at the powers that be, while as they say themselves, enforcing the unbreakable human spirit.” – Boolin Tunes

“Pair the raw, contentious lyrics with melodic riffs inspired by the 00s, and make the sound creative decision to split this release in half, your result will be this; an exceptional statement piece of art that will stand out among the rest simply because it means something.” – TwentyCoreSeven

Today, Michigan metalcore outfit Wounded Touch release their new EP, They Promised Eden (Vol. 1), out through Smartpunk Records. The three song EP delivers with exhilarating force from the urgent “Removing The Arrows” to the experimental “Cachexia” to the all out devastating “A Weapon In God’s Country” featuring Jack Murray of 156/Silence. The EP was produced and recorded by Wounded Touch at Bright Black Earth in Saginaw, MI with mixing by Andy Nelson and mastering by Ryan “Bart” Williams. Vocalist Nick Holland shares:

“It doesn’t seem possible to not be affected by the general state of the world at this time. For us, it started to manifest as unplanned writing at practices that began to build more and more until we decided to start demoing the songs. The songs though started to have a prescient nature in sound and lyrical content and we couldn’t imagine waiting a full year to put an entire LP and once we had put together an EP’s worth of material, we decided to instead release the front half of it written with our newer lineup. ‘They Promised Eden’ is not only a short ripper about survival, but about how accountability isn’t enough. Most of us want blood. And hopefully we’ll all get it soon enough.”

Wounded Touch will head to New York next weekend for a pair of shows with Bore. The band has several Michigan dates on deck this summer including shows with Kaonashi and Harvest, and a performance at Pug Fest. See all dates below.

Formed in 2018, Wounded Touch craft heavy, emotionally charged music rooted in tension, atmosphere, and controlled aggression. Their sound balances weight and restraint—pairing crushing riffs with dynamics that allow songs to breathe while maintaining a constant sense of unease. The band made their debut in 2019 with their From Day 0 Forward EP and truly found their footing with their 2022 full length, Americanxiety. Following several singles and a split EP with fallfiftyfeet, Wounded Touch ushered in their next era with 2025 album A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse. Through it all, they’ve stayed dedicated to melding metalcore old and new, collaborating with artists including The Black Dahlia Murder, Still Remains, and Dreamwell, and releasing covers of Botch and Deftones tracks. They’ve performed at Vans Warped Tour, Furnace Fest, and The Fest, as well as shared the stage with the likes of It Dies Today, Bleeding Through, and Frail Body. They Promised Eden (Vol. 1) marks the first part of a longer body of material set for release later this year.
