Rexoria // Fallen Dimension // Album Review

7

Formed in 2016 in Småland, Sweden, Rexora wasted no time in releasing their debut EP and following it up with a European tour. With a very unique sound hinted at in the band’s name, it didn’t take long for the band to start to gain some traction.

As stated, the band name – Rex, meaning King, and Oria, meaning golden, this is what is known as Royal Metal.

What is Royal Metal I hear you ask, think Powel Metal meets Symphonic Metal and creates a love child – you have Royal Metal.

With massive choruses, soaring vocals and overall sound that leaves a technicolour haze in its wake as it flies past you – this is feel-good, uplifting, sing-your-heart-out Metal.

Each track tells its own story; there is a strong narrative matched by stunning music that makes your insides wake up and want to be part of what you’re listening to.

The 11 tracks feel like something you could put on whilst having a shit day, and immediately you’d feel better, or if you’re having a good day, you’re going to crack open a beer and sing along in a beam of glorious sunshine.

This being the band’s fourth album shows that they are not here to make up the numbers, but are very much here for the long view – producing music that sounds amazing no matter what your mood – you will feel like you are levitating on these wondrous waves of sound.

If you are a fan of Sabaton, The Night Flight Orchestra or Avantasia, then this is certainly an album for you to grab and turn up. The subject matter may differ, but the sound and the feeling are very much similar and have that feel-good factor attached to it.

For me, this is perfect festival music, standing in the fresh air, the warm sun on your skin and a refreshing beverage in your hand, experiencing this larger than life sound that matches the uplift you feel from the vitamin D pouring in through your eyes. You cannot help but feel better with music like this, and that is because it is so bloody good.

I urge everyone to grab this and give it a blast, switch off the world and be immersed in Royal Metal.

Fallen Dimension will be released on 8th May 2026 via Black Lodge.
