Vita Ruina are crafting heavy, emotional post-hardcore that serves as a dynamic and cathartic release. Emerging from the northeast with their debut single A Cruel Separation” earlier this year, today the band unveil their second track, “Madrid.” The song bursts through harsh, driving verses, melodic choruses, and a captivating use of vocal reverberation. Intense guitar crescendos meet punchy drums that build atmosphere throughout the track, culminating into a big, triumphant ending.

Accompanying the single release comes a lyric video created by vocalist/guitarist Bobby Bates, who creates all of Vita Ruina’s visuals and has also done work with END, Nathan Gray, Fit For An Autopsy and more. The video finds a striking mix of media running through old television screens as the track’s lyrics appear across the screen.

Diving into the lyrics of “Madrid” the band shares:

“The song is about a slow unraveling within a one-sided love.  Loving someone unable to receive it and how it erodes both identity and self-worth.  The mind drifts between clarity and doubt as distance quietly grows – leaving grief, but also holding out hope for something that only now lingers.”

“Madrid” was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Brian Robbins.
