Today, Connecticut post-hardcore band Montclair announce their upcoming self-titled EP due out September 25th through New Morality Zine (Make Do and Mend, Chico). On the three track Montclair EP, the band balances between frantic and melodic, taking influence from the likes of Thursday, Thrice, and Planes Mistaken for Stars. Single “Eyesight,” out now, clocks in at under two minutes, unleashing a passionate blend of screamed and clean-sung vocals gliding across shifty chords and pulsating rhythms. The EP lends a more polished sound from the band’s prior output, with production by Greg Thomas, engineering by Nick DeMichele, Greg Thomas, and Chris Teti, mixing by Nick DeMichele, and mastering by Bill Henderson.

“This song is about finding/taking hold of your true self/identity and not succumbing to society’s pressures to conform and ‘fit in.’ It’s about trusting yourself as your guiding light. Embracing the idea that life is about going out in the world and experiencing new things and not living in fear of other’s judgments.”
