The title itself was born from a moment of chaos and humour, after a shoutout from Jamie Lenman during a live show mistakenly dubbed the band “Space Pirate.” What started as a joke quickly revealed itself as something more fitting, a name close enough to feel familiar, yet off-centre enough to signal evolution. A perfect reflection of the track’s core themes.
As their first release since 2024’s ‘Leave With Everything’, “Space Pirate” signals a bold new era. While their debut showcased a willingness to explore melody, groove, and unexpected textures, this new single is Space Pistol at full force: aggressive, immediate, and unapologetically loud.
‘Space Pirate’ is a statement of intent, a track that kicks the door open and leaves teeth on the floor. At the same time, it pushes the band forward, capturing the raw, chaotic energy fans have come to expect while revealing a sharper, bigger, and more evolved sound. It’s Space Pistol, but amplified.
With their second album set for release in 2026, the band show no signs of slowing down. Fuelled by relentless momentum, sweat, and sheer energy, Space Pistol are on a mission to cement themselves as a mainstay of the UK rock scene.
Music was written and performed by Space Pistol, which consists of Daniel Buckland, Ashley Sainsbury, Thomas Darby. ‘Space Pirate’ was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Dave Draper at The Old Cider Press. Artwork was created by Ashley Sainsbury.
