SPACE PISTOL RELEASE EERIE NEW SINGLE ‘DEVIL AND THE DEEP SEA’

Following April’s explosive ‘Space Pirate’, the new track marks the second single from the band this year and shows a different side of Space Pistol: still loud, still wild, still unmistakably them, but with a deeper focus on groove, melody and atmosphere.

Known for their distortion-drenched sound, colossal riffs and high-octane delivery, Space Pistol have built a reputation as one of the UK’s loudest, wildest and most unforgettable live acts. Their shows are a full-throttle sensory experience: unpredictable, electrifying and impossible to ignore.

Fresh off a UK tour with psych-doomers Froglord, the band have left a trail of sweat-soaked, exhilarated audiences across the country. Their victory at Metal to the Masses Northants 2024 cemented their rising status, while their unmistakable stage presence, complete with hot pink boilersuits, ensures they stand out before a single note is played.

Their debut album, ‘Leave With Everything’, released in June 2024, quickly made its mark, proving the band are far more than just a live phenomenon. Now, with their second single of 2026, Space Pistol are pushing into a bigger, bolder new chapter.

Singer Daniel Buckland describes ‘Devil and the Deep Sea’ as being about “the uneasy reality of personal change: the kind that happens slowly, painfully and often without you even noticing it. It captures the feeling of wanting transformation to arrive all at once, like some huge awakening that suddenly pulls you out of the life you once knew, with all its trauma, discomfort and familiar weight.”

He continues, “At the heart of the song is the image of standing on a bridge, moving towards some bright new version of life that you hope will finally feel better, easier and cleaner. But when you get there, you realise perfection doesn’t exist. The place ahead is no less complicated than the place behind you, and moving forward can feel just as hard as turning back.
