November 21, 2025 – Redefining a genre of electronic music that no one asked to be redefined, experimental Rural Canadian Techno supergroup CVCHE have released their new single “Private Volcano” from their upcoming debut album Get Fluffy. PRESS HERE to listen to the single, a hypnotic groove – recorded in a molten studio during a heatwave – that faces adversity rather than let it lie dormant waiting for the pressure to erupt.

“‘Private Volcano’ started as a late-night experiment that got out of hand in the best way,” shares CVCHE. “We recorded it during a heatwave, and the AC was acting funny, and we were running way too hot, which probably explains the title. The song is about pressure… the kind that builds quietly, whether it’s creative, emotional, or just the temperature in the room. ‘Private Volcano’ is us leaning into that heat instead of running from it.”

Harnessing the powerhouse talents of Jimmy Shaw (Metric, Broken Social Scene), Liam O’Neil (Kings of Leon), Dave Hodge (Broken Social Scene, Leisure Cruise), and conceptual artist Jon Morris (Windmill Factory, NOWHERE.io), CVCHE (pronounced “Ceviche”) have been rolling out music from their moss-covered studio in the middle of a river somewhere in the Canadian wilderness. Most recently, CVCHE teamed up with Chris Seligman, founding member of acclaimed Canadian indie-rock band Stars, for their latest single “The Star,” a transportive, mesmerizing galaxy of Rural Canadian Techno that beamed down to earth during a late-night jam session.

Making a name for themselves with their own brand of techno (a term used loosely and with love in the same way people say “salad” when referring to Jell-O with marshmallows in it), CVCHE’s singles – including previous releases “Welcome To CVCHE,” “Eyes of Darkness – A Novel by Dean Koontz,” “Get Fluffy,” “Never Whatever,” and “Thumper” – were created using a large collection of analog, vintage synthesizers from the band’s tiny sovereign nation in Canada where the only club in town is your own waxed floor. PRESS HERE to watch the kaleidoscopic official video for bewildering symphony “Never Whatever” which was inspired by the band’s origin story of listening to “sock jams” — sliding around on a hardwood floor in big, fluffy socks to downbeat techno.

On a mission to make releasing music as fun as creating it, CVCHE’s singles soundtrack the levels in their custom-designed videogame where you guide CVCHE’s pixelated fish mascot and spiritual leader Fluffy through landscapes synced with the band’s music on a mission to save his reef. PRESS HERE to play. Fan favorite “Bitcoin Takes A Hit” was also released alongside CVCHE’s very own memecoin $FLUFFY which offers token holders VIP perks including early access to merch, tickets, and exclusive events.

ABOUT CVCHE

First coming together in 2022 to remix Metric’s “All Come Crashing,” CVCHE began organically at Jimmy Shaw’s hideaway on a river in the Canadian countryside, a place which quickly became known for creative hangs, good food, great music, and its enviable “sock jams” – sliding around in big socks on a slippery wood floor to the downbeat techno of The Field, Jon Hopkins, and Boards of Canada. Inspired to make their own brand of “sock jam” techno, CVCHE began work on their upcoming debut album Get Fluffy. Recording the collection over the course of a year while moonlighting in some of the biggest rock bands in the world, CVCHE are now unveiling the project piece by piece and – with possibly the best merch in the indie electronic scene – deeply encourage you to grab your headphones, break out your fluffiest socks, and press play wherever you stream your bangers as nightclubs are overrated and drinks at home don’t cost $18.
