New York, NY (September 17, 2025) – Oakland-based Alternative indie rock trio OSLO releases “Accidental Tourist” featuring Adrian Young and announces their new EP, The Great Divide, out November 14. After nine years, the trio returns with a cinematic and deeply layered record that reflects both where the band has been and where they’re headed. Moody and emotional, the 6 tracks explore the dualities of connection and disconnection, love and loss, capturing life’s yin and yang.

OSLO, a three-piece built around guitar, bass, and keys, brought in a powerhouse roster of drummers, including long-time collaborator Adrian Young (No Doubt), Tony Austin (Lauryn Hill, Kamasi Washington), Jonny Cragg (Spacehog), and Grammy®-winning producer, mixer, and composer Reto Peter (Green Day, Modest Mouse) to sit in on drums. Their contributions bring vitality and depth, underscoring the record’s sense of community and collaboration. “With Reto’s touch in co-producing and mixing, the EP really came together into something we’re proud to share,” said bassist Kerry Wayne James.

The new single, “Accidental Tourist,” the second song OSLO ever wrote, draws on lead singer and guitarist Mattia Borrani’s early days in Los Angeles after leaving Oakland. The band’s core trio provides a solid musical foundation, alongside guest drummer Adrian Young, adding his unmistakable sound.

OSLO has collaborated with Young previously, sharing a longtime friendship and musical chemistry with Gabrial McNair (guitars/keys), also known for his tenure with No Doubt. “Adrian joining us on the track gave us a chance to jam together, and the vibe was undeniable. From there, it was a simple ask; he was genuinely excited to bring his own flavor to the song,” added James.

The album’s title, The Great Divide, nods to the state of the world, while also embodying the personal and artistic distances the band has navigated over the years. OSLO is set to reconnect with each other, with their listeners, and with the creative chemistry that first brought them together. At its core, the EP is about resilience and hope, with tracks such as the debut single Everybody Knows” distilling complex emotions into moments of reflection, offering catharsis and a sense of universality.

The band’s vision was to create something honest and enduring, a record where listeners can find pieces of their own stories, while also experiencing the growth and evolution of OSLO as artists. Emotional, cinematic, and resilient, The Great Divide is a powerful reintroduction, marking both a return to form and an evolution of sound. Recorded in Oakland, California, the band blends atmospheric guitar textures with analog pedals and synth programming to create wide, immersive soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive.

OSLO will be hitting the West Coast for a short run of shows this November. Catch them live as they perform at iconic venues across California, including The Casbah in San Diego, Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, and The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa.

OSLO first made waves with their self-titled debut album in 2005, earning critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Alternative Press, LA Weekly, and the Los Angeles Times. The album’s breakout single, “Minute Gun,” became a staple on LA’s Indie 103, gaining significant radio traction.

Their sophomore album, The Rise and Fall of Love and Hate (2007), elevated their reach, landing sync placements in TV and film, including CBS’s “The Unit” and Showtime’s “Shameless.” The album also featured collaborations with Grammy-nominated producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Lumineers) and Interpol’s Sam Fogarino, who contributed drums on Things Fall Apart and A Darker Shade.” Further enriching their sound, Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole) lent backing vocals on “A Darker Shade,” Paz Lenchantin (Pixies, A Perfect Circle) played violin on “Crowded Room,” and Adrian Young (No Doubt) played drums on “Mistakes.”

In addition to their album success, OSLO has been recognized for their live performances, having shared the stage with iconic acts such as Motion City Soundtrack, The Church, Third Eye Blind, Blue October, and Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs. OSLO is comprised of Mattia Borrani (vocals/guitar), Kerry Wayne James (bass), and Gabrial McNair (guitar and keys).
