LASTELLE follow up their stunning appearance at Download Festival this weekend with the announcement of a UK headline tour this September. Tickets on sale now; see below for dates. Bassist, vocalist and brass player Freddie Whatmore says “This September we’re inviting fans to Exist with us across the UK, in celebration of the release of vol. ii. These songs mean the world to us, and by bringing them to the stage, we’re thrilled to be able to share the emotion and energy with everyone in those rooms with us”
These freshly-announced shows will be one of the first chances to see the band perform epic new tracks from their forthcoming EP ‘Exist – vol ii’, which will be released 12th September via YOU RANG? RECORDS. This collection includes latest single ‘Bitter Seeds’, which was released prior to Download. Today, they reveal an accompanying music video for the expansively epic cut, which has already seen placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday and the Kerrang! Chart, as well as spins on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and Kerrang! Radio. Whatmore says of the track: “Bitter Seeds was born out of the frustration caused by one-way, parasitic relationships. This song explores the idea that “misery grows company”; how toxic feelings and traits are infectious and, if left unchecked, can leave you bitter, resentful, and cynical.”
‘Exist – vol ii’ completes LASTELLE’s ‘Exist’ project. ‘vol ii’ also includes the previously released single ‘Tired Eyes’ – a track “about how love can make you choose to be blind to issues in a relationship, and the mental toll taken when trying to pull back together a relationship that’s unwillingly, although not unexpectedly, falling apart,” as guitarist Jonjo Williams says.
LASTELLE are adept in confronting the emotionally uncomfortable. Writing about struggles with neurodivergence, loss, and expressing yourself with vulnerable emotion, they are the absolute antithesis of toxic masculinity. Approaching classic post-hardcore sounds with their personal ideas and twists, their music has drawn comparisons with the likes of Holding Absence and Underoath.
