STUCK A NERVE are the new face of UK Thrash Metal
So get ready for a sonic assault mixing the raw energy of Power Trip and Enforced with the old school brutality of Slayer and Sodom.
Their debut single and video NOCTURNAL TERROR drops on 28/06/24, and it’s a short, vicious rager! Working with Sam Turbitt at Ritual Studios ‘up north’ to record drums and get a really aggressive sounding mix/master, mixing in a little HM2 to give the guitars a bit of a buzzsaw feel and they’re really happy with how it turned out.
Keeping everything as DIY as they can, the band recorded all of the guitars and vocals themselves which was a key part of the experience. Not only that but Nathan (Sadd – Guitar) and his partner recently started their own media business ‘Face Melting Media’, so the music video is also the first they’ve created under their own banner. So the band members have been hands-on with everything.
NOCTURNAL TERROR is about the founding of the Cheka (ЧК) after the Russian Revolution in 1917. It was the first iteration of the Soviet secret police and during the Russian Civil War they were just brutal. Their first director Felix Dzerzhinski was particularly fanatical, and he and the Cheka became known as ‘Commissar Death’.
The music is about the dangers of extremist politics and political violence. Nathan really wanted the band to revolve around those themes and his general love of history, and the other guys were totally on board. The awesome artwork for this debut single was created by Wes Brown, which really brings the song to life visually. He’s an amazing artist local to Norwich, and he just fits the bands aesthetic perfectly.
