One of the fastest growing bands are wrapping up a triumphant 2024 with the release of their debut EP, 2005, available now via BKM Artists and LAB Records. Listen HERE. The 6 track EP features previously heard singles, stone cold summer, MOTH KIDS, HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER as well as the new, unheard title track, 2005.
Speaking of their excitement to release the EP, South Arcade said, “It’s really exciting for us to now have a real body of work out into the world that captures the universe we are trying to create with South Arcade. This last year has been a whirlwind and seeing how many people have been resonating with our music has been incredible. We wanted to have the whole EP wrapped up with ‘2005’ before we head into 2025, and to give our fans a taste of what’s to come!”
New single, 2005 was written by the band, produced by guitarist Harry Winks and mixed by multi-platinum and multi-Grammy Award winning producer Rich Costey, known for his work with Linkin Park, Muse, Foo Fighters and Weezer. The new track is a result of reminiscing about how fun and easy life previously felt. Speaking of the track, the band said “It’s a well known fact that we love the 2000s and are heavily inspired by the music and culture of that time. We wanted to have a song that captured that idea of bittersweet nostalgia but in a fun way, and that sounds like it’s transporting you back to that era whilst comparing it to the chaos of how life can feel now. We hope the track can give other people the nostalgic escapism that it does for us.”
The release comes ahead of their most exciting year to date. The Oxford-based four-piece will play their largest headline shows ever, playing Manchester’s Academy 3 on Thursday 13th March and London’s iconic KOKO on Friday 14th March. The last remaining tickets are available here for Manchester and here for London. Following these incredible shows, they head straight out on the road as the support for the huge Bilmuri European Tour, followed by a massive support tour in the USA with Magnolia Park before leading into a summer of massive festivals. Starting with Slam Dunk in May, they will then be playing the main stage at the iconic festival, Reading & Leeds in August.
South Arcade joined Eden Rain, Bea and her Business, and Mercury-prize winners, English Teacher for Radio 1’s New Music Live Show in Halifax last month, where they performed a set at Square Chapel for a live broadcast on BBC Radio 1. South Arcade have had a huge amount of support at Radio 1 with plays across many of their shows including, Future Artists, Future Pop, New Music Show and BBC Introducing.
One of the most exciting bands of this year, South Arcade, made up of Harmony Cavelle (vocals), Harry Winks (guitar), Ollie Green (bass) and Cody Jones (drums) are going from strength to strength and show no signs of slowing down for 2025. After racking up a whopping 15 million+ plays on Spotify alone, this will be their biggest and best year yet.
