Today, Queens of the Stone Age have announced their return to Iceland for the first time since 2005 with a show on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll, for a long-overdue reunion with local fans. The band has been eager to return to the land of fire and ice and booked this as a special one-off headlining gig. Reykjavik’s own Virgin Orchestra will open the show with their signature combination of post-punk, electronic and dream pop. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 26 at 11:00 AM local time at this LINK. Visit qotsa.com for more information.
Comprised of Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and drummer Jon Theodore, Queens of the Stone Age have spent nearly 30 years establishing themselves as one of rock’s most unique and relentless forces. Their presence is particularly felt in a live setting, thanks to high-intensity shows that span their extensive discography. As NME noted during the group’s recent Catacombs Tour, QOTSA is “reaching the peak of their powers.”
