UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS THIS WEEK

October Drift have released the video for their new single ‘Wallflower’ ahead of kicking off their UK headline tour this week in support of the new album Blame The Young out now via Physical Education Recordings.

‘Wallflower’ is a pensive anthem for the introverted, capturing the delicate and often overwhelming feelings of isolation. It is a poignant tribute to those who find comfort in solitude, even when it feels like the world is slipping away. The new video captures this with frontman and guitarist Kiran Roy skating alone through a bleak industrial setting and finding joy in his desolate surroundings.

Regarding the single Kiran says, “I guess the theme of being a wallflower, and of being the quiet observer, reflects the time I was writing the song, which was during lockdown. The ‘wallflower’ is watching from the wings and seeing the ugliness of the world and choosing not to engage. It reflects seeing altercations but not doing anything to intervene or being in a social situation where you can’t relate to anyone there.”

October Drift gave fans a taste of what to expect from ‘Wallflower’ live as they performed the track in session for John Kennedy at Radio X to celebrate the release of Blame The Young. During the session they also played the brand new song ‘Everybody Breaks’ as well as previous singles ‘Blame The Young’ and ‘Demons’.  All of the singles taken from Blame The Young have had great support on Radio X as well as BBC 6Music. There has also been a wealth of radio plays throughout Europe and America, where the band have been championed as one of the UK’s most exciting rock bands.

Winning new fans the world over, October Drift have released their most successful album yet and, following its release at the end of September, Blame The Young reached No.25 in the UK Album Sales Chart, No.12 in the Independent Albums Chart and No.3 in the Independent Album Breakers Chart.

Their potent music translates into impassioned, jaw-dropping high-energy live performances, which consistently prove to be captivating and hair-raisingly thrilling events.

Their 10-date UK headline tour starts on Friday (October 25th) at Bristol’s Thekla and finishes at London’s Scala on November 5th. The band will then play Mutations Festival in Brighton on November 9th before setting off on their first headline tour across Europe.
