The exciting 4-piece alt-pop punk rock band Skinny Knowledge release their honest and no punches pulled new single ‘Goes Around Comes Around’ on all digital platforms. “2022 was a pretty traumatic year for me, and I went through some real difficult times involving who I thought were two of the closest people in my life.” frontman and guitarist Andy L Smooth wryly shrugs and states, “It’s probably the most personal and emotionally charged song I’ve written to date.”

Opening up further, “It’s about betrayal, disloyalty, heartbreak, anger, moving on, and a big old f*ck you as a result of the trauma of being locked in a cell for 6 hours through no fault of my own. This song definitely served as a self-therapeutic mechanism for me. Let’s just say I’m no longer close with either of those involved, but luckily for them, they have each other.” As a consequence, Andy lost the urge to put pen to paper but found an ally in teaming up with Matt Bigland from Dinosaur Pile-Up to co-write; “I explained the entire situation to Matt to give him an understanding, and it just went from there, he’s a good friend. The song began as the intro guitar riff, and it built over the course of the day. We managed to get the whole track written in about 6 hours. Although the theme of the song is about my own personal circumstance, I hope other people can relate in their own way whatever they’ve been through – stick this song on and do exactly that.”

Hailing from the south coast of England and formed in 2020 by frontman Andy with Max Harris guitar/vocals and Rab McGowan on bass/vocals, the band’s sound captures the vibrancy of the raw and raucous, early 90’s grunge and pop-punk scenes. The band has gained praise and airplay from a number of high-profile music platforms, including Kerrang!, Classic Rock Magazine (the single ‘I Wonder’ was voted Classic Rock Magazine’s ‘Track of the Week’), Planet Rock, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and many more.

Since the release and well received by fans and critics alike success of their debut album ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights’, the cheeky-chappy foursome have gone on to release singles, toured, and played at notable venues including Bournemouth O2 Academy and festivals including Teddy Rocks. This summer sees them bring their ever crowd-engaging and fun live show to the inaugural Maid of Stone festival in Kent opening the Emerging Rock Bands stage with more shows to be announced. They are currently finishing off recording a second album for release later in 2023 with a Kickstarter campaign which can be backed HERE, that features exclusive and some very creative perks.
