Jah Wobble / Dark Luminosity Autobiography + UK Tour

JAH WOBBLE // DARK LUMINOSITY

MEMOIRS OF A GEEZER // THE EXPANDED EDITION

7 March / £12.99 paperback / £8.99 eBook / £26.99 audiobook

New expanded edition of the iconic British musician Jah Wobble’s critically acclaimed autobiography featuring a new introduction by Jon Savage.

Rather than another tale by a spoiled celeb, this autobiography – funny and sharply intelligent – reads like a valuable cultural historiography. THE GUARDIAN

Written in his own unmistakable voice, this is the frank and fascinating memoir by arguably the greatest bass player of his generation. Beginning with an East End childhood in a London barely recovered from the Second World War, Jah Wobble takes us on a journey through the beginnings of punk and post-punk as a founding member of Public Image Limited, an illustrious forty-year solo career which has seen collaborations with musical greats such as Brian Eno, U2, Sinead O’Connor and Can through to the present day, still playing to sold out audiences. Along the way we hear how Wobble navigated chronic alcoholism and other personal issues to emerge as an alternative national treasure.

He writes with a punchy honesty and has a good ear for an insult. An enjoyable romp through three decades of pop culture as well as an occasional meditation on working-class life and the changing face of London.” THE TIMES LITERARY SUPPLEMENT

Jah Wobble gives a heartfelt account of himself in Memoirs of a Geezer, a beautifully observed record of much more than his time in the post-punk spotlight with John Lydon’s Public Image Limited.” INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY

A riveting account of the bassist’s life, Wobble’s autobiography is extraordinary, lucid, gripping and incredibly direct. Wobble has produced nothing less than a Cockney Chronicles. MOJO

Born in Stepney, London in 1958, Jah Wobble is the English bass guitarist, singer, composer, poet and author who has influenced an entire generation of players. His recording career began as a founding member of the hugely influential post punk group Public Image Limited (PiL). After two LPs, Wobble parted company with John Lydon and PiL in 1980 to pursue a successful and prolific 40+ year solo career and has since collaborated with a wide variety of musicians over the years.
