French icons – INDOCHINE – are set to play a one-off live show in London on 11 June 2023.
For over 40 years Indochine have been at the forefront of a musical wave with their unique style and generation-defying performances. Now, for the first time in a decade, France’s largest new-wave band are ready to descend on UK shores for a rare one-off performance.
With work on a new album underway, Indochine are excited to take to the stage in London once more this Spring. Hitting Camden’s Roundhouse on Sunday 11 June, the band will be supported by Isle of Wight indie-rockers Coach Party.
Frontman Nicola Sirkis has been living part-time in the capital since 2019 and, commenting on how special the UK is to him, he picks out Regent’s Park, the National GalleryPrimrose Hill and the impeccable leaf-lined streets of Hampstead as some of his favourite spots in the city.
Lauding David Bowie as his all-time favourite Londoner and counting The BeatlesThe Rolling StonesBlurCoach Party and Wet Leg as amongst his top five English bands of all time, the artist particularly enjoys walking around green-spaces in the city and spotting squirrels in Regents Park. If he could buy any of London’s iconic buildings to live in, he says George Martin’s AIR Studios would be top of his list, and he wholeheartedly confirms he keeps up with Britain’s unruly politics when he’s in town.
A special band performing in a special town, the upcoming London show will see Indochine celebrate their connection with both London and their swathes of UK fans.
Demand for the Indochine live experience is mammoth and the band gained a further rubber-stamp last year as their 2022 ‘Central Tour’ stadium show became the first concert in the world to be filmed for IMAX. The film hit No.1 at the box office in 477 theatres, making it the biggest musical event ever broadcast in France.
A band who have stood the test of time since their conception in 1981, Indochine continue to prove that their music is as relevant and well-received today as it was over four decades ago.
Now heading to London for one night only, Indochine are ready to bring their highly-anticipated show to UK audiences. Stalwart fans already know how charismatic the band are live, and they continue to perpetually grow their fanbase at their mesmeric shows.
Indochine will also be joined by Coach Party, who played “the gig of a lifetime” with Indochine earlier this year as they played to over 97,000 fans at the Stade de France. Having released new tracks “All I Wanna Do Is Hate” and “Micro Aggression” earlier this year, Coach Party craft infectious tracks full of witty lyrics and indie-rock riffs and are set to release their debut album ‘KILLJOY’ this September.
