Bulletbelt – New Zealand Power Thrashers Share New Video For “City Of One”

New Zealand power thrashers Bulletbelt today share a music video for “City of One”, a new track off the band’s fifth studio album “Burn It Up” which was released on September 22 via Impaler Records.

Filmed and edited by vocalist Diego Attinger during Bulletbelt’s recent and successful European tour supporting Brazil’s Semblant, this new video displays both scenes from their live performances and off the stage escapades.

Drummer Steve Francis comments about this new video: “City Of One is a love letter to our home city Wellington. Escaping the small town I lived in as a teenager and moving to the city was a big breath of fresh air and opened my eyes to all the amazing art, music, food and beautiful landscape that Wellington offers. We live in a paradise down here and Wellington is vibrant, full of creative people and I can be at the beach or be running in the hills within 15 minutes of the CBD. As creative people it’s a great place to live.
We shot the video footage on our recent European Tour and the theme of the song fit so well with all the amazing European cities we visited. Immersing ourselves into the European Metal culture and experiencing the uniqueness of what each city, venue and country had to offer. Like Wellington, each city had its own vibe and was indeed a City Of One!”

Recorded in April 2022 at the Massey Studio in Wellington by the group’s founding member and drummer Steve Francis, long-time bassist Tim Mekalick, guitarist Josh O’Brien and the new vocalist Diego Attinger, “Burn It Up” was met with great critical acclaim. Metal Sucks commended the album stating: “let’s be clear about something from the rip — this shit is bursting with some blackened thrash-ass tunes. Seriously, as only their fifth full-length studio effort, these Kiwi metalheads sure know how to mash a classic sound with modern technique and precision”, while Angry Metal Guy added “This is the best Bulletbelt has ever been, and their combination of blackened classic heavy metal with Diego Attinger’s towering vocals outshines whatever minor flaws Burn It Up might have.”
Recorded all live with no triggers, patches or simulations, the eight-track album was co-produced by James Goldsmith (Beastwars, Mermaidens, etc) and features the cover artwork of Christchurch artist Jake Clark a.k.a. Mr Wolf, accompanied by design and layout by Japanese designer Seiya Ogino of Ogino Design (MONO, Dark Funeral, Vomitory, Naglfar, etc), and is now available worldwide on Impaler Records.

Bulletbelt has toured Europe, Australia, Japan and New Zealand and played numerous support slots with visiting international acts including Sepultura, Carcass, Napalm Death, Midnight, Psycroptic, The Black Dahlia Murder, Impiety, Bölzer, Tragedy, Rotten Sound, Midnight, Municipal Waste, Ringworm, Paul Dianno, Arch Enemy, DragonForce, Sacred Riech and Vio-Lence.

The band first announced themselves to New Zealand’s metal-loving audiences in 2009. With music featuring on the soundtrack to the cult-classic movie, “Deathgasm”, international touring and three previous records of brutal, beautiful sonic assault, it’s a solid foundation that “Warlords” sits atop. After a decade of brand-building, blood, sweat and… beers… tears and forever true and strong of heart, the sound of mind and body and committed to the riff, the chorus, the way of the anthem, Bulletbelt’s head is held high, their flag is in the sand.
