Formed in 2022, Montreal-based metallic hardcore band Cross Check blend introspective, emotional lyrics with shattering riffs and an intense live show that has made them a staple in the Quebec hardcore scene. The band debuted with their 2023 demo, followed by last year’s if you’re not afraid then why are you shaking EP, earning them spots opening for Comeback Kid, Mindforce, Incendiary, Converge and more. Ahead of their performance at Vans Warped Tour Montreal this weekend, Cross Check release the absolutely devastating single “Wildfire” through Static Era Records. The track shakes through menacing chord progressions and eerie undertones. Vocalist Hannah Castelli channels rage through passion, delivering lyrics addressing the perils of the ongoing climate crisis.
