Today, Mimi Barks has today released her new EP, Dreamstate of Fear, via her own imprint DEATHKISS Records, alongside the official video for new single ‘Ophelia’.
Following previously released singles ‘Dreamstate Of Hell’, ‘Jericho’ and ‘Power durch Verrat’, the seven-track EP further establishes Mimi Barks’ self-defined DOOM TRAP sound, blending rap, metal, industrial and trap into her most accomplished release to date.
Across Dreamstate of Fear, Mimi explores themes of collapse, betrayal, transformation and self-reclamation, pairing heavy guitars, industrial production and hard-hitting beats with vocals that move between vulnerability and confrontation.
Released today as the final video from the EP, ‘Ophelia’ marks the closing chapter of the record. Directed by Tima Kasatkin (Space of Variations, Jinjer) and filmed in Košice, Slovakia, the video captures one of the EP’s most emotional moments, reflecting its themes of loss, surrender and reclaiming power.
Speaking on the track, Mimi Barks says: “Ophelia the single that completes my EP Dreamstate of Fear, which is out now. A spell of losing yourself inside someone else’s reality, the quiet disappearance of the self. Like Ophelia beneath the river’s surface, it is a surrender to the illusion and a reclamation of the power.”
