Microtonal is a 5-piece death-thrash outfit hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Since their formation in 2023, Microtonal have been determined to bring metal back into its aggressive and fear-inducing roots. Microtonal have already begun to make a name for themselves within the Irish metal scene and have secured support slots for touring bands such as The Troops of Doom, Sovereign, D.R.I. and Stampin’ Ground.
As well as Microtonal’s aggressive sound, their lyrics are equally intense. Microtonal’s lyrics explore themes of civil unrest, religion, injustice and corruption alongside other societal issues. Microtonal’s debut EP ‘Baptism of Fire’ was released in October 2025, shortly after the release of their debut singles ‘Dark Side’ and ‘Forsaken’
