Acclaimed pop-rock trailblazer LØLØ has teamed up with alt-pop artist and former tourmate Ella Red for a new version of ‘delusional darling’, originally featured on LØLØ’s sophomore album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!, released earlier this year via Fearless Records.
A wry, self-aware take on ignoring the obvious in the name of love, ‘delusional darling’ explores the moment you realise you can’t change someone, no matter how badly you want to.
LØLØ comments: “For better or for worse, I’m one of the most delusional people I know. I like to believe the best in people, even when there are giant, flashing red flags telling me otherwise. ‘delusional darling’ is a satirical, over exaggerated take on every girl who’s ever tried to justify an asshole’s bad behavior. Sometimes, you just have to let the ‘delulu’ take over you, because being delusional feels much less lonely than facing the truth. It’s easier to rewrite your reality than to admit the painfully obvious: he’s just not that into you. After inviting Ella Red to sing this with me every night when she opened up my European headline tour, all of the fans LOVED it. I’m so excited to give them this recorded version after an amazing tour!!”
The release follows a huge year for LØLØ, including the release of god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!, appearances at multiple Warped Tour dates and the start of her North American headline run. Later this year she’ll reunite with frequent collaborators Simple Plan for arena and stadium dates across Asia, before heading to Australia for Good Things Festival.
