Brighton folk-rockers Levellers have been one of Britain’s most enduring and best-loved bands for nearly 40 years. Emerging from Brighton in the late 1980s, they have built a reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive and must-see live acts – combining folk, punk and political energy with an enduring connection to their audience.

And in 2026, as they mark the 35th anniversary of their platinum-selling, second album Levelling The Land, the appetite for seeing their powerful, inspiring and euphoric live show is as great as ever, with the vast majority of their upcoming tour already Sold Out and only a few final tickets remaining for a handful of shows.

As lead singer Mark Chadwick comments, “’Once a Leveller, always a Leveller, you’re a band that can change and help anyone any age any time.’ This was told to me recently by a fan at a gig, and it made sense to me. I suspect that’s why we are selling tickets, these people don’t forget!”

The Levelling The Land 35th Anniversary Tour starts with the band performing at Beautiful Days, the festival they founded 23 years ago. Yet again, Beautiful Days has Sold Out months in advance, proving that independent festivals that focus on their loyal attendees can thrive even in today’s challenging live climate.

The band will also be performing a huge open-air headline show in their hometown of Brighton on September 5th. This 6,500 capacity show, which is almost completely Sold Out, sees the band supported by Sleeper, Kid Kapichi, Brakes and The Meffs.

Bassist Jeremy Cunningham says, This year we celebrate 35 years of Levelling the Land! So we’re looking forward to getting out on the road and playing some of our favourite songs from that album – plus some other classics too. We’ll see you there!”

Levelling The Land was originally released in 1991 and features the hit singles ‘One Way’, ‘15 Years’ and ‘Far From Home’ plus ‘The Game’, ‘Liberty Song’, ‘Riverflow’, ‘Boatman’ and the incendiary ‘Battle Of The Beanfield’.

During that summer, Levelling The Land redefined the UK’s musical landscape providing the soundtrack for a society fed up with the twin evils of Thatcherite politics, and the post-80’s pre-grunge musical wasteland. They followed that release with the Number 1 album Zeitgeist a few years later, solidifying Levellers at the forefront of British music, as a counter-cultural voice alongside Britpop contemporaries such as Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Suede, Supergrass and more.

The cultural and musical legacy of Levellers runs deep with echoes of their work found in contemporary music, grassroots political movements and the evolution of British festival culture. And this tour sees both the band – and their fans – celebrating that legacy with joy and ongoing hope for the future.
