Today Award-winning Blues-Rock guitarist Laurence Jones Announces Support Artists For 2025 UK Headline Tour which will see Laurence Jones tour in the electric power-trio format to a total of thirty intimate grass-roots independent music venues across England, Scotland and Wales.

The tour kicked off on Thursday 9th January 2025 at Colchester Arts Centre with Danny Giles supporting followed by Miguel Montalban & The Southern Vultures opening proceedings on Friday 10th January 2025 as part of January Blues Festival 2025 at 229 London.

Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra:

Dublin is bursting with musical talent, but few acts capture the existential ennui of living in the Irish capital like the Grunge trio Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra. Their angular songs are steeped in melancholy, and not just the typical sorrow of youth, but of trying to thrive in a city becoming increasingly inhospitable to its young people. And yet, there’s a halo of hope surrounding their songs.

Guitarist and vocalist Sarah Deegan and drummer Danni Nolan came together while gigging on Dublin’s underground scene. They draw inspiration from the likes of The Breeders, Courtney Barnett and Elliot Smith.

Their debut LP, coming soon via Anon Records, evokes the dreaminess of Cocteau Twins, Snail Mail and Lush.

Danny Giles:

Coming from a long line of musicians, you could say that music is part of Danny Giles’ s DNA.

His love for playing the guitar manifested itself at the tender age of 7, when Danny showed an exceptional aptitude and skill for the instrument. By the age of 13 he was performing live with his father’s band, which lead to him recording his very first record a year later.

The same year, Danny was accepted to the Academy of Contemporary Music, breaking the record for the youngest person to do so. This caught the attention of the Academy director, Bruce Dickinson, who put him forward for their most advanced course. This recognised Danny as a prodigious talent as well as a record breaker. Danny carried on with his schooling all the way to A Levels. By graduation he had played hundreds of shows all over the U.K., supporting and playing alongside some of the worlds most renowned guitarists.

In 2018 Danny began the prestigious position of lecturing in contemporary music performance at BIMM (British and Irish institute of modern music) following in the footsteps of his mentors. BIMM is the largest provider of musical education in Europe.

As a session guitarist Danny has contributed to many recordings for artists in varying genres, commercial work for TV and advertising. A demonstrator at events such as the London Guitar Show for brands including Eich Amplification, LT Custom Guitars and Alchemy Pickups.

With many albums and international tours/ festivals under his belt, Danny Giles’s career is going from strength to strength as a guitarist and vocalist for British blues rock power trio ‘The Danny Giles Band’

Danny runs his own private teaching practice where he instructs aspiring guitarist of all levels as well as mentoring young talent to reach their full potential.”

“With the speed of Yngwie Malmsteen, the power of Dimebag Darrell, the tone of Walter Trout, all wrapped up in a mighty blues feel, Danny is a guitar hero in the making”Pete Feenstra Classic Rock Magazine U.K.

MVT Cohorts, organised by Music Venue Trust, is a new initiative aiming to combat the shrinking tour circuit. Increased costs of touring, including fuel, accommodation and transport, and uncertainty about the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on ticket sales, are forcing artists, agents and managers to reduce the financial risks associated with playing extensive nationwide tours. As a result, tours are focusing on major cities and missing out Grassroots Music Venues in hundreds of towns, rural areas and smaller cities across the country; established grassroots venues are no longer being offered touring artists; music fans are no longer able to see their favourite artists, or discover new ones, without travelling to the major cities.

The MVT Cohorts project will underwrite the costs of the shows, ensuring that both the artists and venues receive a guaranteed fee, removing the financial uncertainty that comes with extending tours in the UK, thereby allowing the artists to diversify their tours and play outside the major cities and the venues to programme diverse and varied gigs.

For future tours MVT will organise Grassroots Music Venues into ‘Cohorts’ – networks of venues each with its own distinctive identity, facility or approach but which all share a common theme and goal to support touring artists and development. A ‘Cohort’ might denote a group of venues that specialise in certain musical genres, reflect venues with a unique production style, such as seated atmospheric or small capacity, or have specific audience demographics that are underserved. Each ‘Cohort’ will form a preset and agreed touring opportunity which artists, agents, managers and promoters can tap into to support tours reaching those areas currently being left behind, helping to prioritise places and communities most in need of cultural investment.
