Iconic Holland based black/death metallers GOD DETHRONED shed light on a biblical chronicle with the title track and second single from their upcoming studio album “The Judas Paradox,” which is set to be released on September 6, 2024 through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). The opening track of the album draws listeners into a perilous abyss filled with betrayal, presenting the narrative from Judas‘ perspective. This gradually intensifying song weaves the apostle’s account of the historical events involving Jesus, who refutes the unfounded accusations against one of his nearest disciples, expressed through murmuring choral chants.

Vocalist/guitarist Henri “The Serpent King” Sattler explains, “The title track of the album! The song talks about Judas Iscariot, who speaks about the events surrounding the betrayal of Jesus Christ from his point of view. It’s a topic that holds the world in its grip since the story became public knowledge. Musically it’s the most atmospheric and melody driven song on the album.”
“The Judas Paradox” can be pre-ordered physically and digitally (incl. two instant-grat tracks, ‘The Judas Paradox’ and ‘Rat Kingdom’), and pre-saved on your preferred digital service provider (DSP) here: https://goddethroned.rpm.link/judasparadoxPR
“The Judas Paradox” was produced by the band themselves, with mixing being handled by their very own singer/guitarist Henri. Tony Lindgren, who previously worked with scene greats such as OPETH, AMORPHIS, ENSLAVED, KATATONIA, KREATOR and SEPULTURA, took over mastering duties at Fascination Street Studios, rounding off the grandly sinister sound of “The Judas Paradox.”
