Drew Davies returns with new single ‘La Revanche‘ Out May 21st

Drew Davies has announced the release of his first single in over two years. Inspired by tales of betrayal, vengeance and obsession from the French romantic period, the track is titled ‘La Revanche’
.
With a sonic foundation consisting of guitars, drums and synths, the track has a brooding,cinematic sound reminiscent of 90’s gothic noir cinema. The vocals cut through with Drew’s trademark passionate baritone delivery in the verses, but showcase his cutting hard rock pedigree in the chorus. This tale of retribution features rich orchestration, from which both electric and classical guitar melodies are woven as the full band drives towards the song’s powerful coda.
In Drew’s words,
“With La Revanche I went deep down the rabbit hole of dark, pseudo-gothic rock. Probably fitting given the song’s themes are ones of emancipation and revenge. I foundmy love of 90’s alternative rock soundtracks coming out in the orchestration; there are a few nods to The Crow, 12 Monkeys and even Elfman’s Batman in there. The song signals a turning point for me too in my records – it’s the first single I’ve released with my full live band, it brought a new level of energy and freshness to the work.”
Though born and bred in South Yorkshire, Drew Davies’s musical career kicked off in London and has taken him across the UK and Europe. His music has been championed by many, including BBC DJs Mickey Bradley (BBC Ulster), Gary Crowley (BBC London), Bruce Dickinson (BBC 6), Jericho Keys (BBC Introducing) and the late great Janice Long (BBC Wales). This radio support has been mirrored by press acclaim from the likes of CLASH, Louder Than War
and Earmilk. After a strong self-titled debut album in 2020, he went on to release his sophomore record Holloway Nights in 2024.
‘La Revanche’ arrives now to ignite this exciting new era of his music, ahead of more releases set for 2026.
