Following her recent return with ‘Big Machine’Bonnie Kemplay continues her new chapter with latest single ‘Dandelions’, released today via Dirty Hit.

A deeply reflective and emotionally tender new single, ‘Dandelions’ leans further into Bonnie’s instinct for nostalgic, diaristicsongwriting. Built on her signature finger-picked guitar and intimate vocal delivery, the track captures a sense of drifting between past and present, holding onto fragments of memory while navigating the quiet disorientation of adulthood.

Speaking on the new track, Bonnie adds: Dandelions is an escape into happy childhood memories, when life felt lighter. Itcaptures the feeling of being lost in adulthood and the quiet acceptance that some of that magic has faded.”

Accompanying the release is a stunning live performance video, which sees Bonnie performing the track within a dreamlike, immersive set. Surrounded by soft clouds, grass, and sweeping dandelions, the visual world further amplifies the song’s sense offragility and nostalgia, placing Bonnie at the centre of a surreal memoryscape that mirrors the emotional core of the track.

Like much of her recent work, ‘Dandelions’ extends Bonnie’s storytelling beyond romantic relationships, instead drawing on themes of friendships, family and emotional transition. Her writing continues to feel conversational and deeply human, capturingsmall, specific moments that resonate on a wider emotional scale.

The release follows a period of creative renewal for Bonnie, whose return after a three-year hiatus has marked a clear evolution in both sound and perspective. The time away from releasing music proved transformative. After her debut EP, Bonnie found herself reassessing both her creative process and personal identity. “When I released my first EP, my artist identity was deeplyintertwined with who I was,” she says. Since then, I’ve discovered who I am beyond music.” This shift is reflected in her newmaterial, more playful, less bound by perfectionism, and open to experimentation. Influenced by artists such as Allegra Krieger, Wilco, Big Thief and German Error Message, Bonnie’s new work broadens her sonic palette while maintaining her universal relatability.

With over a million streams, critical acclaim from The Sunday Times, The Face, Clash, DIY, Dork + many more, and major support slots for artists like Adele and Bleachers, Bonnie Kemplay has already established herself as a compelling emergingvoice in alternative pop. Bonnie first emerged in 2022 as the UK’s top emerging artist after beating over 10,000 other entries to perform in the world famous Radio 1 Live Lounge, joining the likes of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Stormzy in the Live Lounge history books. The talent search was in partnership with BBC Radio 1 and BBC Music Introducing, in which she unveiled her original song Blushing’ and a cover of The 1975’s ‘If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)’.

Now 24, Bonnie’s recent singles signal a confident and deeply personal return, one that sets the tone for her most fully realised work to date.
