Two weeks ago Killing of a Sacred Deer emerged with single “Devotion.” Now the band shares their debut EP, Killing of a Sacred Deer, out through Wax Vessel. Sharing members with Serration, World Of Pleasure, Mortality Rate, and Secret & Whisper, the band has crafted a heavy and unsettling sound combining the best elements of deathcore and metallic hardcore. Led by Colter and Jordan, Colter lead on the majority of the writing, performance, and production with Jordan mixing the record himself at Oodelally Recordings in Kelowna BC. Mastering was done by Brandon and Hunter from Digital Ghost Audio in Atlanta, GA.
The seven track EP is a blow to the senses. Kicking off with “Scarlett Halo,” Killing of a Sacred Deer inject intense blast beats and distressed vocals that will make your head spin in a good way. Each track hits massively, with “Dried Flowers Bathed in Visceral” providing a slow yet soul-stirring repose. Guest features from Frazer Cassling of Cauldron (UK), Cody Dewald of Serration, Jess Nyx of World Of Pleasure and Conner of Guiltless add dimension to the already striking tracks. Lyrics drive from horror, video games and religious babble that play into the cataclysmic nature of the EP.
