Threading a line between the heavy rhythms of grunge and swirling melodies of shoegaze into an inspired, modern take on alternative rock is Two Point Oh. The band’s members call Brooklyn, NY and New Jersey home, drawing from the area’s hectic energy. Built to find sonic beauty and derive catharsis from negative experiences, Two Point Oh comes to fruition on their self-titled EP out today. The self-release keeps a do-it-yourself force, recorded by the band and then mixed and mastered by Trey Frye of synthpop duo Korine. The fours songs on the EP spread between bright and melancholic, serving as an outlet for those who feel outcasted or alienated to be free to be their most authentic selves.
On the writing process, the band shares:
“The goal was to be open to collaboration and exploration of new sounds, ultimately refining our collective tastes and coming full circle embracing the idiosyncrasies of our songwriting process while at the same time informed by new references and inspiration.”
