Cory Marks // Sorry For Nothing // Album Review

9

Canadian-born Country Rocker Cory Marks is back with his new album ‘Sorry For Nothing’ landing December 6th courtesy of Better Noise Music.

Cory follows up on his successful debut, ‘Who I Am,’  that caught the imagination of audiences worldwide. Marks returns with a banger of an album alongside some of the biggest names in the business for a whole host of killer collaborations. What you get is an album overflowing with stadium-sized anthems, banger after banger, that just grips you right from the off. ‘Make My Country Rock’ and ‘Guilty’ take your breath away as you delve into the album, gasping for air wondering what is coming next!

The heft that ‘Guilty’ has under its belt is a thing of beauty and something you’ll want more of, thank God there is no shortage, you’ll get the backbone of old-school country engrained in Cory’s DNA but fused with top-notch Rock and Metal. ‘Whiskey For Sale’ is the perfect example of this, with its roots deep in the traditional country like it’s on steroids! The songwriting is sublime; every track just sucks you in, and you’ll be warbling the chorus on the first spin, every track an audible earworm, Mark’s voice is highly addictive, too and soars out above those gargantuan big hooks. It’s not hard to see why Mark has garnished such high praise right from his arrival on the scene.

Every country fan can get lost in these fine tracks; there’s a lot to love about this album, something for everyone from the traditionalist through to the contemporary rocker, every track has a quality to it that it’ll no doubt win over a whole army of fans for this Canadian rocker. Where ‘Who I Am’ launched Marks out into the ether ‘Sorry For Nothing’ will send him stratospheric!

From start to finish this is a great album, if you love your country-rock you’ll be in your element, Marks is a revelation and can only go on great things, 2025 could be his year!
